DIY Brush Cleaner,Holder and Brush Guards!

If you're on a tight budget like me, I am always on a tight budget but I still spent alot. :( hahaha. I cant afford those brush cleaners, brush holder and brush guards. Not right now, when there will always has something to save to. (e.g Grad Ball Dress, Shoes, etc.) So I researched and read some blogs about the DIY Brush Cleaners, Holder and Guards!

DIY Brush Cleaner

I recently deep cleaned my brushes using an extra virgin olive oil and an anti bacterial soap. I learned this trick from Michelle Phan in Youtube, only she uses the dishwashing soap instead of me using the anti bacterial soap.  The EVOO is to maintain the softness of hair of the brushes since the soap can be harsh and can damage the bristles of the brushes while the anti bacterial soap cleanses the germs away from the brushes!
Bioderm's Germicidal Soap.

Photo isnt mine. But this is what I use.

How I do it is to first wash the brush with water then slightly dab it to the soap and then pour a little amount of EVOO to it. *Dont put too much oil or you'll never be able to use your brush again* Wash it thoroughly.

After cleaning, I used to blow dry them but found out that it's a No-No.  So, to dry my brushes I have two options.

First:
I used a clean towel and placed it like this so the water wont go where the glue that holds the hair and the handle together.

Second: DIY Brush Holders.

MY DIY BRUSH HOLDERS. Brainy, right? ;)

I also use a hanger that has several clippers, or what we call here "sipitan" then I clip my brushes the same position as in the first option and then hang it and wait for it to dry.

DIY Brush Guards

Brush Guards cost around 200 and contains for 6 to 8 guards, I think.  I have alot of brushes and I think that's not "sulit".  So, I'm suggesting this DIY that I have read somewhere. I trried this and I guess, it's effective! :)

When you buy a brush well of course it is placed in a plastic packaging like this.  Make sure to clean it first by wiping it with a wet towel first then a dry one after.

Cut it like this.

It should look like this. Owkay?

I know some will be too big for a brush so I suggest you get a tape and then tape it outside so it'll fit the brush and the brush will maintain its shape.  Try putting holes in the plastics so the air can peep into the brush.

Voila, you have your brush guards! ;)

I hope you guys learned some cool stuff.  Sometimes, you really dont need to spend alot! Always try to look for alternatives! ;)

Til next post!

The Perfect Red. (MUA Luxe London Lip Lacquer in InReckless Review)

This MUA Luxe Lip Lacquer in Reckless is the Perfect Red! I got this from my first batch of make up haul. (Link here!)

The packaging is so cute.  So classy!

Ingredients and what it claims.
Good for a year too!

Oops! Sorry for not bothering to clean the applicator. :)))
I find it hard to apply the product with that.

With just one swipe!  Very much pigmented!

I have been looking for a matte red lipstick! Lime Crime has them but it's expensive.  So, I bought its dupe! (As what some of the users claim. I cannot prove that since I don't own any Velvetines.) But, I so looove this! <3

I have read in some reviews that it's not easily remove and kiss proof. But based on my experience..

It's kiss-proof yes.. if you use the product alone and you didn't put any lip gloss or lip balm after applying it.

i looked funny. hahaha.

tahdah. kiss proof it is.

It's not "not transferable" or "not easily remove".  I used this on our Grad Ball last time.  I had to sip some drinks directly from the glass or straws.  It left some products on the straw and glass though, it was not completely erased afterwards.

Err, it was hard to apply!
I had a heavy meal too and that, erased all of the product so I have to re-apply.  I hate how it's not that convenient to apply especially when you dont have your lip liner brush with you.  So, I had to use my finger. lol very hygienic right.

Why am I complaining?! I got it for almost half the price of the velvetines! It's quality/pigmentation is really good! And Both of them are drying on the lips! Lol.

It's one of my Favorite Lipstick and Lip Products! Coming from a Lipstick Hoarder, you should believe it!!  Wait for my review on the shade Funk and that is a dupe for the LC's Pink Velvet! ;)

Buh Bye! Love Love Love the Mua luxe lip laqcuer! That was a long name though!

Kokuryu Summer Cake in Puggy Pink!

I was hesitant to try this summer cake before because of its smell that reminds me of the HS Days pageants and promenades. Hahaha.

I used this cake for a test look for my Grad Ball.  At first, It was very pinkish but once I put more product and blend it to my skin, it matches my skin tone.

 Here's the finish look!

This is just a test look but at the grad ball night I used the half false eyelashes and mua luxe lip lacquer in reckless. Refer to the last photo! =)

Just to be safe I set it with my Maybelline Pressed Powder in shade Natural.  It lasted for the whole night!  I didnt even need to retouch but the strong vanilla-ish scent stayed. :(

I used my Avon Color Fold Up Pallette (Da's gift to me! <3)

A closer look.  Spare my ungroomed brows.

the false eyelashes I bought last time.. I cut it by half because I didnt wanna over-do my makeup.

I also used my ELF Baked Highlighter and Mist/Setting Spray (Oh, I think it really helped for the longevity of the cake foundation and my whole makeup!) I've been loving the highlighter!  It really gives you a glowing skin! I got it from The Primp Pad!

First Batch of Make Up, Brushes or Tools Haul for Graduation (Artist Studio Brushes, Kinepin False Eye, Kokuryu Summer Cake, Mua Luxe)

Guess what? Our Graduation's moved to the 22nd.. GradWAITING! But there's an advantage to that, well for me.. that means i have the time to save up money for the make up and tools I will be using for Grad.  I am planning to do my own Hair and Make Up.  It can serve as a practice as well and I can do the make up I want for my Grad! <3

Here's the first batch (Second batch will be my purchase from The Primp Pad and the Third well I hope I can buy that Brow gel from Jazzy Collection and LOL's eyeshadow glitter. Makeupholic, Indeed!) of Make up and Tools I'll be using.

Last March, oh time flies! I bought these Artist Studio Brushes from Landmark in Trinoma.  Of course, I have read some reviews about these before buying.  Honestly, even if im a big-spender, I make sure that I'll buy the quality products and my Php 500 should be spent wisely, like, I should have 2 to 3 items out of my 500. Kuripot here. Hahaha.

And out of my 500 I bought 8 items! *does the happy dance*

Here they are!

Stiffling Brush
My Use: Liquid Foundation or BB Creams Application

I also bought a pair of Kinepin's False Eyelashes but I accidentally pulled the middle part of the lashes and.. you know the next thing that happened. I hope I saved it by putting some glue and attaching the pulled parts. *fingers crossed*

I think this was 39.75 pesos? I forgot :p

It includes a lash glue.  I havent tried it yet but I have my Nichido Lash glue with me if ever this wont work :p

Oh! I am planning to do make ups for friends and their friends who also has friends.. hahaha. (Not funny at all. Boo!) If any of you is interested.. might as well contact me! :D

So, I asked my good friend Nikki to buy me a set of falsies in 168. ;) Hahaha. These are such a STEAL!!! 10 pairs for Php100. Not bad!

Simple yet pretty packaging!

1O pairs of False Eyelashes!

Here's a closer look!
I want my falsies to be more thick and natural looking!

Next are my MUA LUXE Lip Laquers in Reckless and Funk. These are DUPES for LIME CRIME'S VELVETINES that cost 800-900 excluding the Shipping Fee. This contains more quantity of product than LC's and more affordable so why not right? I want me some matte liquid lipsticks! <3

Wondering why there are 6 of them?
Chic Cosmetics had their promo of free shipping for orders 1000 and up plus 3 MUA Luxe in any shades for 999.  I wanted two, Reckless and Funk.  Dupes for Red Velvet and Pink Velvet.  My friend, Nikki also wanted two lip laquers and we have to find two more who's willing to buy the laquers. I used my Public Relations Skill. HAHAHA. I found two people who also want to buy.. We availed the FREE SF and 2 orders of set of 3 MUA LUXE.  Atlaaast! :) These costed me 333 each only because of the promo but if you'll buy only one shade they sell it for 380 each.

Here's a lip swatch of Reckless. Will be reviewing the two soon once I opened Funk! :)
Highly pigmented! Matte finish!

I was looking for a good liquid foundation with a full coverage but in an affordable price and did not find anything.  So I opted for Cake Foundations.  I have been eyeing for Fanny Serrano's Two way cake because it has good coverage and that vanilla smell. OOH!!! But its pricey for me! :(  So, I just bought Kokuryu's Summer Cake in Puggy Pink, the lightest shade.  I was going to buy Jade too but it's out of stock.  I heard that it's good for concealing the redness of the skin. Anyways, I guess I have to settle with this.  I hope I wont look like I'm on a Pageant though. HAHAHAHA.

Ingredients and Instructions. Not Paraben-Free like almost of the makeups duh?
Price: 134.00

It's the big size because the regular size is also out of stock.  Wow, guess this product is on demand!

What I dont like about this.. is the strong scent! It reminds me of the pageant and JS days. Hahaha.

I havent tried this yet because I am planning to practice my make up once I have my dress.  And I still dont have my dress! hahaha. Nauna pa yung make up :p That's just me!

Stay tuned for my second batch of haul. lololol. :)))
