Eyebrow Routine using an Eyebrow Cake/ Powder.

Hi everyone! It's been awhile! I finally had the time again to do a blog. (I have all the time in the world now! Ha!) My previous post was about my eyebrow routine using a pencil, now I'll be sharing with you guys how I do my brows using a Powder/Cake.  I have two ways of doing it because it depends if I have the time to perfect them brows and I want them to be precised or I dont have the time and I dont want to put too much effort on it.  It also depends on my mood. ;)

Ill be using my Marionnaud brush, it's dual ended so it's handy! It comes with a brush for the application on the other side, and the other one is a spoolie. Very convenient!

Next, is the star of the show ( I mean, post). It's my Eyebrow Cake from NYX in Taupe.

Inside, you can find two mini brushes. One spoolie and the other one is just an ordinary brush.  It also contains a wax, two shades of powders: One light and one dark.

Here's how I use this.

First is of course to brush your brows in place. Then, with that mini brush, I dip it into the wax and apply it to my brow hair just so it would stay in place.

You can use a setting spray or just water.

Sprayed some on the cover.

I find it easier to use and the color shows its true shade when it's use with a damp brush.  Plus, that's why it's called eyebrow cake because it's easier to blend with if it's a little bit damp. ( dont quote me on that though haha. )

I dip my damp brush into the two shades then take off the excess with a clean tissue paper.  I outline my bottom part of my brows.

Then my upper part.  I blend them afterwards and then put some for the sparse parts of my brows and then brush it off using the other end of my eyebrow brush.

If you have put too much and you messed the shape of your brows you can always use your concealer and clean it up, like what I did in my previous post
Here's how they look!

Full make up list:

Fashion 21 Two way cake
Jordana blush
Wet & Wild Just Peachy and mixed with NYX Matte in Angel.
Maybelline's Falsies Mascara
NYX Concealer Jar

Jazzy Collections' Brow Gel in Light Brown.

Jazzy Collections' Brow Gel in Light Brown

Hey! I have been blogging about make up dupes.  This time, its going to be an eyebrow product!

Ever heard of Mac's Brow Gel?  That costs like a thousand or so but I heard that it's a favorite of their customers.  Since I am officially unemployed! I dont have the budget for that brand. though, I have wanted to purchase a lipstick there ever since! hahaha.

Going back, I have raved about this brow gel from jazzy collection! They have the shade I've been looking for my brows! I first saw this at SM Dept Store after buying the Kokuryu. I immediately tried it out and boy, I almost took it home! Hahaha. Nah, Jk!  I promised myself that I will but it ASAP!

And when me and my Mom went to the mall. I asked her to buy it for me.  That was the perfect timing! Hahaha.

Moving on to the review..

Packaging:

It's nicely secured in a little box.  It's good for 12 months/a year.  Ingredients:refer to photo above.

It didnt have a shade name, just this, but on their testers it said that this was the "Light Brown".  Not really, though.

A brow wand applicator!

Im telling you, that's already a lot of product!

How I used it:

Bare face.  Brows are sisters not twins! So dont judge my brows. HAHAHA.

For the purpose of this so so review.

Right eye: Used my Nichido Eyeliner Pencil in Black Brown alone.
Left Eye: Used the Brow Gel alone.

Left eye: Just brow pencil.
Right eye.  Brow gel alone.  I guess I put too much of the product.  It was very pigmented!!

See the difference.  The Brow Gel is crazy pigmented! I loveit! You just have to be light handed when putting it and make sure you're getting only a little amount.
You can also put a little amount of product first then brush it off with a clean brow wand/brush.

Okay, the earlier pictures are not attractive. HAHAHA. So I erased it all, and then fixed my brows.
This time, I used the pencil for the both brows and then applied the gel/mascara on top.  Much better.

I have a black hair so this chocolate-shade/dark brown shade is right for me, I wont stick for black eyebrow products, it'll make me look like "bakekang" (Filipinos know).

Here's a complete look. I did a full face but not overly done make up just to complement the brows. :) I call this, a Summer-friendly make up!

Since this is a Summer friendly makeup, I tend to put not too much of makeup.
Just the browgel to keep your brows in place.
Light shade eyeshadow (optional)
Curled my eyelashes (Mascara's optional)
Highlighter just to give you a glowing skin once you go outside.
Pink or Peach blush
Peach or Pink lipstick to complement the fresh look.

Kokuryu Summer Cake in Puggy Pink!

I was hesitant to try this summer cake before because of its smell that reminds me of the HS Days pageants and promenades. Hahaha.

I used this cake for a test look for my Grad Ball.  At first, It was very pinkish but once I put more product and blend it to my skin, it matches my skin tone.

 Here's the finish look!

This is just a test look but at the grad ball night I used the half false eyelashes and mua luxe lip lacquer in reckless. Refer to the last photo! =)

Just to be safe I set it with my Maybelline Pressed Powder in shade Natural.  It lasted for the whole night!  I didnt even need to retouch but the strong vanilla-ish scent stayed. :(

I used my Avon Color Fold Up Pallette (Da's gift to me! <3)

A closer look.  Spare my ungroomed brows.

the false eyelashes I bought last time.. I cut it by half because I didnt wanna over-do my makeup.

I also used my ELF Baked Highlighter and Mist/Setting Spray (Oh, I think it really helped for the longevity of the cake foundation and my whole makeup!) I've been loving the highlighter!  It really gives you a glowing skin! I got it from The Primp Pad!

This look was supposedly a plum and pink not so smokey.. I dont know what happened.  LOL.  Was it too blended? Uhh. Or its the eyeshadows fault?  Thats why im on the search for a good eyeshadow pallette.

So okay, a little tutorial for you guys plus the products I used. (Images overload right here!)

How I did it.. (no pictures/videos though.)

1. Primed my face with Maybelline Pore Eraser.
2.  Applied Ever Bilena’s Advance Shine Free Liquid Foundation. (Not really a Shine Free Liquid Foundation though, My Aunt just gave it to me to try out.)
3.  So since, the liquid foundation is a No No.  I set it with Fashion 21 Two way cake with tea tree oil in the shade of Natural with Elf’s Studio Flat Top Brush from the primp pad! :D
4.  I did my eyes first since I know that the pallettes are very shimmery, it will fall out all over my face.
  • Pat on some elf eyelid primer. Blend it.
  • Put that shimmery pink all ove the lid. (Nichido flat eyeshadow brush)
  • That light brown shimmery eyeshadow for the crease just to define it. (Elf’s Eye precision brush)
  • Then that plum/dark violet on the outer V of your eyes. (Marionnaud Flat angled Brush)
  • Then, blend to soften the edges. (Elf’s Blending Brush)
  • Put on some of the pink in the middle of the lid to have that transition. Then blend it again with plum.
  • line your eyes (Elf’s Cream Eyeliner)
  • Put some mascara (Elf)
5.  Do your brows. (Follow where your brows are. ;) ) Put some concealer below your brows to highlight your browbone. (Nyx Eyebrow Cake in Taupe,  Avon’s angled brow brush)
6.  Contour your face. Yes, do the fishy face! I dont know if the Nyx Blush in Taupe worked on my face. lolol. (Avon’s Powder/Blush Brush)
7. Blush!
8. Powdered my face with my f21 two way cake just to cover those imperfections. HIHI.
9.  Oh I used the lipglosses in the pallette, but I think, Its not that pigmented.  I used the peach one right there and the dark brown to line my lips.  And i dont have that nude lippies yet,  So I used my Sophie’s Mango Peach lippy?

So there you go! :D

Inarte mode on! :D

Avon Color Fold Up Pallette: Reviews & Swatches!

image
I got this from Da! <3  It an early Christmas gift from him, I guess? Yes, he’s a HIM.  lol. anyways! I saw this first from Avon’s facebook page.  It did caught my eye since I’m in search for a good eyeshadow pallette.  Maybe Da pitied me last time when he saw me using and being envy with my classmate’s Sephora eyeshadow pallette. :p

I havent used this though. Since I have no time for doing my full make up JUST FOR school. But with the various eyeshadows, blushes and lipglosses I guess I can come up with a decent look soon. <3

*If you guys are wondering why my pictures has watermarks, because I used to have my blog on Tumblr. In that link. ;) *

Here’s the packaging:

What it looks like before opening. * It has this white cover but I just removed it.* See those violet bubbles? Cute right? Very elegant!

Verdict:

(Wow, I sound like a professional blogger. Lol.)

It’s pigmented! :D  The colors can be used from daytime look to a night time one. :D

I think all of them are shimmery though, no matte eyeshadows but it’s okay! I loved the colors! :D

No strong smell :D

For the lasting power, I cant really say since I haven;t used this.  But for me,  eyeshadows will really last with eyelid primers!

PS.
I really hope our Local cosmetic brands here in the Philippines can really come up with a good eyeshadow pallette.  Eyeshadows only.  Hihi.
That ends my post! <3
